YEC EMS

On Wednesday, April 21st the Elkhart Middle School participated in an exciting event that showcased 22 students sharing their business creations.  The students were asked to create a written executive summary, four minute verbal presentation and visual trade show.  The students were taught about finances, marketing, logo creation, name recognition of a company, product manufacturing, profit and making a loan at a bank.  The students were accompanied by Ms. Villa/Elkhart Middle School principal, Marty Long/Kansas State Representative, Vienna Lee/Morton County Economic Development Director, Christy Preston/Product Manager, Rural Entrepreneurship from NetWork Kansas and Michelle Hanes/YEC EMS Coordinator with informative presentations to the students during the Awards Ceremony. Eight awards were presented to 7th & 8th graders competing in the EMS YEC Competition including 1st through 6th Places, Most Creative and Most Professional.
