Lynn E. Thrall, Principal at Elkhart Elementary School, started his career in USD #208 , Trego County Schools in Wakeeney in 1974. After taking a year off from education he returned as the elementary music teacher in USD #389 in Eureka where he served eight years. He then moved to Florida for one year. In 1984, Mr. Thrall became principal of Quenemo School in the Marais Des Cygne Valley USD #456 School District. After five years of service in Quenemo, he became principal at Elkhart Elementary in Elkhart, Kansas where he has been principal for 26 years.

Mr. Thrall received an Associate of Art degree from Hutchinson Community College, his Bachelor degree from Bethany College in Lindsborg, and his Masters in Educational Administration from Emporia State University in Emporia.

Mr. Thrall is a member of NAESP, KAESP, ASCD, USA, and Phi Delta Kappa. In 1997, he received the KAESP District VI Principal of the Year award. Mr. Thrall was also named KAESP District VI National Distinguished Principal Nominee in 2008-2009. He has received the Kansas Spirit of Pride Award from the Pride Committee.

Mr. Thrall is a member of the Elkhart United Methodist Church, Elkhart Booster Club, Community Theatre. He has served the Yucca Girl Scout Council Board of Directors, Board of Trustees at The Elkhart United Methodist Church, and he presently serves the USD #218 Administrative Council, Co-Chair of AdvancEd at Elkhart Elementary School, Elkhart Elementary School Advisory Council, and has volunteered for many community activities.
