Morton County Spelling Bee Results

by Janelle Ambrosier
February 24, 2010

Elkhart Middle School students reigned supreme at the Morton County Spelling Bee on Thursday evening.  In the fourth and fifth grade division, Tai B. and Kimberly B. battled back and forth for first place for a lengthy period of time.  Kimberly ended up taking home the first place title after correctly spelling words such as POPULATION, APPLAUSE, AUTHOR, and BARGAIN.  In the senior division, sixth grader, Shaylee A. gave eighth grader, Brendon C., some tough competition.  Shaylee was finally stopped with the word AGGRANDIZEMENT, (although she gave it a good try,) and Brendon took first place when he spelled CIRCUITOUS and ADJUDICATE correctly.
