First Grade News

During Animated Literacy we will continue sentence editing, as well as nouns, adjectives, and verbs.  I am asking the students to be independent readers by using the strategy bookmark to read unknown words.  I am really trying to emphasize independence this last month.

Sight-Words

We will be reviewing our sight-words in class each day.  I will continue oral testing in place of paper. The kids know over 150 words and are becoming more automatic when reading.

Lunch

 This month we will have a special guest, Crystal Bashford, from the Extension Office.  She will teach us some important facts about nutrition and the food groups.  We are so excited to have her!
We will also talk about bugs and farm animals in the last weeks.

Math2

This month we will continue to study math facts, money, time, measurement, and analyze data in graphs and tables.
