I was born and raised in Great Bend, Ks. I graduated from Great Bend High School in 1977. I attended Barton County Community College and graduated with an Associate degree in Science. I then went to Fort Hays State University and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a minor in Math, Science, and Speech Pathology. In 1983, I accepted a job as a first grade teacher and coached Volleyball, Basketball, and Track at the High School and Middle School levels. Currently, I teach Math, Science and Critical Thinking at the Middle School level
I have been married to Dan Walls for the past 22 years. He works for Anadarko Petroleum as a mechanic. He is actively involved with Boy Scouts, hunting, and his woodworking. We have three children, Kirk, James, and Lindsey. Kirk is attending Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. He will graduate with his Paramedic degree in December and then plans to continue his education with a degree in Nursing. His future plans are to be a Critical Care Nurse. James is a freshman at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He is a member on the President Select group and will be working as an ambassador for the Athletic Director and President of the collage. He is currently working to get a dual degree in Biology and Chemistry. His focus on Pre-Medicine and future plans are to obtain a Doctorate of Orthopedics. Lindsey enjoys people and loves to share her smile and joy for life with others. She is actively involved in Volleyball,Cheerleading,Basketball, Softball,Track, Student Council, Key Club and whatever else she can keep herself busy doing. Our children are our pride and joy, they will make a difference in this world.
