Expectations and Rules for Kindergarten:
|
|
My name is Dana Perdue. I am beginning my 31st year of teaching and my 21st year at Elkhart. I have taught a variety of classes: 2nd grade, 1st grade, music, Cyber School, and preschool. This is my debut year as a kindergarten teacher. Kindergarten is a unique bridge between the preschool years and graded levels. It is a year for exploration, learning, socializing, and adjusting to an all day program. Kindergarteners are creative, fun-loving, and a joy to teach. They are not afraid to try new skills and concepts. The kindergarten program also includes art class, P.E., music, library, and computer. Our challenge as kindergarten teachers is to prepare the students to become successful first graders. We believe our curriculum and daily activities adequately meet this requirement. |
