August 23, 2010
The C.A.T.S. Afterschool Program will open on the first day of school at the Grade School. Due to the change in the daily school schedule, the Afterschool Program will now be open from 3:30 until 5:30.
The program will continue to offer homework assistance and enrichment activities; however, there are a few changes. First, K-4 Homework will all be from 3:45 – 4:15, following snack time. Secondly, there will be a Club offering each month. A Rocket Club will be offered in September led by Crystal Bashford and Tim Jones. K-1 students will meet on Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:15, and 2nd – 4th graders will meet on Wednesday from 4:30 – 5:15. The fee for the Club will be the same as the daily enrichment fee (there is no additional cost), but the fee needs to be paid in advance and is not refundable or transferable to other days. Future Clubs will be Quilting in October with the Library ladies and a Drama Club during the Holidays led by Alicia Frownfelter.
The Middle School Afterschool Program will begin following Labor Day. Homework will be offered on Monday and Wednesday from 3:45-4:15, following snack time. Math Club will also be offered from 3:45 – 4:30, also on Monday and Wednesday. On Tuesdays, students can sign up for the Enrichment Club hosted by Harris Gallery under the auspices of the Elkhart Rec.
Homework time and the Academic activities at the Middle School are free to students as a result of the generosity of our Sponsors. The Enrichment time fees will be the same as last year. Full-lunch student fees are $4 for 1st child, $2 for 2nd child and $1 for the 3rd child. Reduced-lunch student fees are $2 for 1st child, $1 for 2nd child and free for the 3rd child. Free-lunch student fees are $1 for 1st and 2nd children and free for the 3rd child.
If there are any questions concerning the program, contact Peggy Horton through the Grade School (2133) or the District Office (2195).
