Choir and Band Represent Well at League

The Elkhart High School Choir and Band both participated in the High Plains League Music Festival on Wednesday, February 24 in Stanton County.  The band performed two pieces, "Military Escort" arr. by Swearingen and "At the Crossroads" by Smith, that were evaluated by three adjudicators.  Following their performance the band earned I-, I- and II+ ratings that averaged out to a I-.  The choir performed "Fa Una Canzona" by Vecchi and "Hear My Prayer" by James and were also evaluated by three adjudicators.  The choir earned II+, II+ and I- ratings that averaged to a II+.  Both of these groups started off their festival seasons with great ratings and are looking ahead to the KSHSAA State Large Group contest in Dodge City on April 14th.
