Life Adjustments Students Looking for Fred

by Peggy Overstreet

February 02, 2010

The Fred Factor is a book written by Mark Sanborn based on his postman who always tried to help whomever he could.  Mrs. Overstreet’s Life Adjustment students are trying to find Freds, people who are considerate and helpful toward others, who do their jobs in an extraordinary way without looking for recognition or compensation.  These people will be role models for the students as they enter the world of work.  So far the students have found twenty Freds.  The students are realizing how important it is to help others and to do a good job at work at work and in one’s community.

Their list of Freds includes the following people in the Elkhart community and one nominated by the exchange student from Belgium:  Ernie Barnes, Dick Rodriguez, Mrs. Murray, Henry Burge, Josielyn Alcala, Doug Iman, Crystal Bashford, Bert LuAllen, Gino Castillo, Claudine Davidson, Kevin Shook, Rene Witcher, Pastor Gary Murrel, Dick Bennon, Floyd Coen, Dana Baldwin, Mrs. Bane, Seth White, Rosalyn Drew, and Bnoit Rouschop.  Congratulations to these helpful people.  Your consideration of others hasn’t gone unnoticed by the EHS students.  Meanwhile, students are still searching.  By the way, have you seen Fred?
