Senior Graduation and Future Plans 2009

Congratulations to the class of 2009! The class graduated May 17, 2009, in the Elkhart High School auditorium at 2 p.m.. Thank you for showing your support for the class of 2009 by attending this year's graduation. The senior class would like to thank you for all the support you have shown through out this year. There was a large turn out this year at the EHS graduation. The following are the future plans of the class of 2009:


Pamela A.
plans to attend Seward County Community College where she will study Nursing.

Joey A. plans to attend the University of Kansas where he intends to major in Physical Therapy. He tells me he intends to have lots of fun, but work hard as well.

Garrett B.
intends to study Beef Cattle Management at Colby Community College. He has received a Livestock Judging Scholarship which covers books and tuition plus $400.

Tommy C. intends to work for a year then attend college for Pharmacology.

Bryan C.
plans to attend Johnson County Community College where he will study Graphic Design. He received the Elkhart Baseball Wildcat Award this year.

Tiawna C. will be attending West Texas A&M University where she will be majoring in engineering.

Deena D. is deciding between Hutchinson Community College and Colby Community College. She would like to obtain an Emergency Medical Technician Firefighting certification and then continue with further medical studies.

Helin D. will be returning to Germany where she will have two more years of German High School. She then intends to go to college and major in Journalism.

Cinthia E.plans to attend Seward County Community College where she will be studying Cosmetology.

George G. intends to obtain a good paying job, possibly winning the lottery, and living a long, properous life.

Bobbie H. will be attending Butler County Community College where she will be majoring in Nursing.

Brie H. intends to study either Sociology or Psychology at Washburn University. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she intends to continue to law school. She has received the Finnup Scholarship for $1,200 and an Academic scholarship for $750 from Washburn.

Jesse H.
plans to move to Grove, Oklahoma where he will be working at Foreign Aid Automotive and attending Technical school in the evenings for his auto mechanics certification.

Cody I.
plans to attend the Art Institute in Austin, Texas to major in music.

Lisa J.
will return to Germany and finish two more years of German High School. She then intends to spend a year traveling or working as an Au Pair in Australia. She then wants to either return to the United States or stay in Australia for college to become a Marine Mammal Scientist.

Marcie J.
will be attending Seward County Community College to obtain her degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Andrew L.
will be attending Fort Hay State University where he will be seeking a Business degree. He has received a Pell Grant as well as the Bronze Award from the university. He was also named as a University of Kansas Honor Scholar.

Terry L.
plans to attend Colby Community College where he will be majoring in Music. He has accepted a $1,600 scholarship for Band, a $1,000 scholarship for Choir, a $500 scholarship for academics, and a $1,200 scholarship for track.

Cheyanne M. intends to attend Seward County Community College where she will study to become a Medical Lab Technician.

Jordan M.
will be attending the University of Kansas where he will be majoring in Business and Music Production. He has received the James Nasmith Scholarship from Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity

Laura O. is undecided as to her future plans. She is deciding between attending Hesston College or joining the Air Force. She intends to take a year of work before deciding.

Jesse R. is deciding between Emporia State University and the College of St. Mary’s to obtain a business degree.

Josh R. will be attending the Colorado School of Mines where he intends to major in Engineering. He has received the School of Mines Merit Scholarship for $7,000, and a School of Mines grant for $5,000.

Elisabetta S.will return to Italy and finish another year of high school in her home country. She then will go to college, possibly in the United States, and study Internation Relations and Studies.

Alecia Smith  will be attending Cloud County Community College where she has been offered a basketball scholarship for books and tuition. She plans to major in Graphic Design and then hopes to continue basketball at a division one school.

Julianna T. will be attending the University of Kansas and majoring in Journalism. She has accepted an $8,000 scholarship from KU. She was also offered $19,000 from the University of the Pacific, $16,000 from the University of Miami, and $11,000 from Drake University.

Truide U. plans to attend West Texas A&M University where she will be majoring in either education or neonatology. She has received a Pell Grant as well as scholarship from the university.
