Elkhart Elementary students participated in the 30th anniversary for Jump Rope for Heart. Since 1978, Jump Rope for Heart has raised more than $703 million for the fight against heart disease and stroke. Millions of student have jumped rope and learned about heart health and how nutrition and physical activity can help prevent heart disease and stroke.
This year we raised $6,624.24. Our school goal was $5,500. Because we reached our school goal, Mr. Thrall and Mr. Chrin agreed to dress up as women for a school day. They were great sports and the students had a good time with them during the day. The overall class winner was Mrs. Spell’s first grade class raising $923.98. The winning class will have a pizza party for being the overall big winners.
A total of 92 students participated in bringing in donations.
Overall winners were: 1st – Alberto Knelssen, $365.00; 2nd –
Tritney McCabe, $248.50; and 3rd – Teagan Simmons, $214.00. Any
student raising $150.00 or more will be placed in a drawing for a
trip to Walk Disney World. This drawing will be held July 14th
which includes anyone in the state of Kansas raising this amount.
Those raising $150 or more along with our three top winners
include: Jaxon Hastings, Oakley Hastings, Kalub Williams, Chace
O’Hair, Regan Nave, and Timothy Warner.
Thank you to the community for joining us in the fight against
heart disease and stroke.
