Students Enjoy 8 Days of Skating
by Erika Parker
November 19, 2007
For 8 days at the end of October and first part of November, students skated at the high school during their PE time. This is an excellent program that Ms Wilson brings in to our district. Several students new to the district this year did some research and wrote up an article about the skating for our monthly newsletter. Thank you to Sydney, Annie and Joshua, also a special thanks to Mrs. Von Lintel for helping them gather the information.
Students Skate

Ms. Wilson received a postcard from Skate Time in Oklahoma City six years ago. This is the fourth year Elkhart has participated in skating. It costs six dollars per person and they delivered the skates to us. We got to skate for eight days. One day Miss. Parker went skating with us.
“It was scary because that was my first time skating. It was scary when I was falling but it didn’t hurt,” said Annie. “Skating is fun but when you fall down it hurts. It’s really easy to slide,” Joshua said. Sydney said, “I thought it was really fun the first time I tried it and I fell a lot but I got the hang of it. It was really fun because you could go fast and slide.”
