Welcome to 4B

. . . where learning rocks

Elkhart has always been home to me.  I attended the Elkhart School system from Kindergarten – 12th grade, graduating in 1992 from EHS.  I attended Kansas State University, obtaining a BS degree in Business Administration.  Realizing that I wanted to work with children, I went back to school and received a BS and MS in Elementary Education from Fort Hays State University.  I will be working on a Masters in Technology Integration starting this fall.  This is my 5th year to teach at the 4th grade level.  I spent 2 years as the Technology Rich Classroom Facilitator, teaching teachers how to integrate technology into their curriculum.  Upon completion of the grant, I returned to the classroom as a 4th grade teacher.

I have a son named Arik, who is in the 4th grade.  He is my pride and joy.  He enjoys skateboarding and videogames.   I am still hopeful that he will be a great recruit for KSU football – Go Cats! We spend much of our time with my parents, Stan and Becky Parker as well as my sister Alyson and her family, Heath, Braleigh and Baylor.

Besides teaching, I am becoming a professional shaved ice expert with my mom and sister on the Arctic Express.  We have our own shaved ice business that we run during the summer months.  My mom and I also spend our Saturdays mowing.  Who said that teachers are on vacation work during the summer?  My hobbies include reading, working in the yard, cooking and watching K-State football.  I also enjoy shopping, traveling and baking in the sun when I get a chance.
