Life Adjustments Students Prepare for the Work of Work

The Elkhart business community recently invited forty Life Adjustments students to job shadow for a few days.  Students helped assemble planters, watched an ultra-sound procedure, fixed flats, and participated in many other business activities.  They watched and questioned and helped at each participating business, including these:  Eclipse, Elkhart Co-op, Cargill, Elkhart Tri-State News, Morton County Law Enforcement, Elkhart Elementary and Middle Schools, Parents as Teachers, Morton County Health Department, Morton County Health System, Morton County Economic Development, D's Tires, Becky Richardson, AT Motors, Scott Power, Point Rock Golf Course, Colorado East Bank, Scott's Welding, First National Bank, High Maintenance Salon, City of Elkhart, Dark Horse, Morton County Treasurer, American Implement, State Farm Insurance, Pete's Truck Service,Elkhart Lumber and Greenhouse, and Elkhart Ford Mercury. Elkhart Tri-State News prints many pictures of the students at work during the job shadowing experience.

Business are also coming to the high school commons area on April 2 for the EHS Summer Job Fair.   During the job fair students will meet with business owners and representatives in a search for summer work, a more interesting job, better pay, or part-time work.  The best prepared students will have an updated resume to leave with each business that interests them.  Businesses also show students about career opportunities in this area.  Participants this year include Scott Power, American Implement, Point Rock Golf Course, City of Elkhart, Morton County Health System, and the US Grasslands and Forest Service.
